I swam two years for The University of Iowa. While there a teammate shared her faith with me. As a result of our conversation, I accepted Jesus into my life. Shortly after making that life-changing decision in 2002, I parted ways with the water. That former teammate, and now life-long friend, went on to dive for the United States in the 2008 Summer Olympics.

In 2017, I got back into the sport and participated in the United States Masters Swimming Summer Nationals. I also became a Swim Instructor at the local YMCA.

In 2018, my husband and I participated in Point to La Pointe which is a 2.1 mile open water swim in Lake Superior.

Also in 2018, I was a part of two relays that made the FINA Masters Swimming World Top 10 age group tabulations. One of those relays also received United States Masters Swimming All-American honors.

While pregnant with my third child in 2019, I swam during the pregnancy; right up to a few days before delivery.
